The Coastal Rail Trail is chugging along and it's making a brief stop to pick up more passengers. The City of Santa Cruz is hosting an open house event to share its progress with the public. This event will focus on the 2-mile long section of multi-use trail that will stretch from Natural Bridges Drive to the wharf end of Pacific Ave. Successful fundraising of private donations by local community groups to complement public funding has been a great example of community interest and involvement in the Coastal Rail Trail. The goal is to begin building in early 2017, requiring a year to complete.
