Robert Sward edits The Outdoor Poet for Hilltromper, but that's the least of his callings. The poet, novelist, essayist and teacher serves as an elder statesman of the Santa Cruz literary scene, hosting events, reading at salons and tirelessly working to promote poetry. Lately Robert's own work has focused on his lifelong relationship with dogs, which serve as a company of quirky, opinionated muses. This year he looks forward to publishing Unleashed: The Dogs in My Life; at tonight's New Cadence Poetry Series reading, the whole thing may well go to the dogs.
