Boogie up to Rancho del Oso for a day of newt-learnin'. Live amphibians will be on display, and herpetologist Amy Patten will present "Salamanders of the Santa Cruz Mountains" at 1pm. Salamander walk in the lovely Waddell Valley is at 3pm. Free!
Rancho del Oso State Park, 3600 Hwy 1 (17 miles north of Santa Cruz). Noon-4pm.
