If you've ever been to Mountain Feed & Farm Supply in Ben Lomond, then you already know about the Christmas trees for sale this time of year (each one with a name like Gloria or Sam), the big homesteading room with beekeeping paraphernalia and the like, the mind-boggling canning and preserving cottage with everything from cheesemaking kits to pressure canners, the cute soap-and-candle kiosk and the overall fabulousness of this place. And then there are the plants, which are great, because this is a nursery. And there are top-notch staffers, who are knowledgeable and always helpful.
And if you haven't been here before, now's the time! The Banana Slug String Band plays (1-2pm), Santa pays a visit (2-4pm) and kids get a chance to plant a complimentary mini succulent for teachers and other nice people all afternoon. Add cider and Mission Hill Ice Cream.
