It's the Tour de SCM—and there are plenty of tough climbs to go around on the scenic back roads of Santa Cruz County. Choose from a 100k course with 7,000-foot climb, a 100-mile course with 10,000-foot climb, a 200k course with 17,000-foot climb and a new "mini-challenge": the 35-mile course with 3,500-foot climb. This fundraiser for the Santa Cruz County Cycling Club does it up right with homemade baked goods at the rest stops and a big burrito dinner afterward followed by ice cream. Well deserved, we might add.
Register before April 25 to get the Early Bird price of $55 ($45 for the mini-challenge); after that the price tag climbs like a road through the redwoods till it reaches day-of costs of $85 and $75. So jump on it, riders!
