Stand up paddle boarders, kayakers, and waveskis (a sit-on-top surfboard of sorts) descend on Steamer Lane and Cowells to show the surfers a thing or two about creative wave riding at the three-day Santa Cruz Paddlefest. Elite paddlers test their mettle at the legendary break, racking up points by throwing down dynamic carves, cartwheels, and loops. The event culminates in a Sunday afternoon showdown at Steamers.
