OK, today it's on. This weekend-long mountain biking spectacle is situated in the Soquel Demo Forest and is presented by Mountain Bikers of Santa Cruz in partnership with BELL. Festivities include racing, camping, beer, outdoor movies, demo rides and more.
Saturday – The race is on! The first wave of riders heads out of Camp Loma at 9am. Watch as competitors plunge down the mountainside, dodging trees and rounding corners at breakneck speeds.
Some of the highlights of today's schedule:
6:30am – 10am – Breakfast, provided by BELL
7am - 8:30am - early morning packet pickup
8:30am – Mandatory Rider Meeting
9:00am – First wave of racers head out from Camp Loma
2 - 4:00pm – Live Music by Coffee Zombie Collective
5:00pm - Results Posted
5:30pm - Awards
6:30pm – Dinner, provided by BELL
Beer, provided by Lagunitas
8:00pm – Screening of Strength in Number by Anthill
Want a good place to watch the action? Spectators can park at the Demo parking lot on Highland Way; free day-use parking. Trails will be closed for much of the day for the race, so folks should come prepared to securely lock their bikes if they bring them and hoof it to prime spots.
