Think surf culture is all about egos and dudists? Think again — tonight's films focus on a whole different kind of surfing world. Beyond The Surface follows six women through southern India exploring the connections between surfing, yoga, ecological creativity and women's rights (6:20pm screening followed by Q&A with director Crystal Thornburg-Homcy, cast member Kate Baldwin and executive producer Damian Handisides).
In the second half of the evening Out in The Lineup explores homosexuality and surf culture, and The Fortune Wild finds three surfers getting back to nature (foraging for food included) on a British Columbian island (9:05pm screening).
