Sausagefest 2014

Date:

Sun, 09/28/2014 - 13:00

It's back! Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing's annual salute to beer and sausage comes swinging back into the makeshift biergarden at Mission Street Extension and Western. For eight years the beloved local organic brewer has, ah, mounted this festival, replete with sausages from upstanding local vendors like El Salchichero, Corralitos and Freedom Meats; beer and cider from too many local brewers to list here (you can probably guess who they are); and homemade mustards, relishes and krauts cooked up by SCMB maven Emily Thomas herself. What a package!

As if all that weren't enough, Polkacide is back. Last year they rocked the crowd with a hyperactive blast of accordion, clarinet and brass that made the people hitch up their dirndles and lederhosen and get polky. Need more? Dogs are welcome. And proceeds from the event will go to Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks—the best friend a state park could have. This is one sausage party everyone will enjoy.

Dying to go but short on dosh? Volunteer! For a couple of hours of set-up or breakdown, volunteers get a free mug, beer token, and sausage sandwich. Yum! Email Lily@scmbrew.com to sign up.

Corner of Mission Street Extension and Western Drive (Westside Farmers Market space); 1-4pm (gates open at 12:30pm). Tickets are $10; get them early, cause they always sell out and you can't buy them at the door!
