The world is a changing place and scientific discoveries are happening all the time. The Crepe Place wants to keep you in the loop and there's no better way than with a drink in hand. Dr. Maria del Carmen Muñoz-Marin, UCSC professor of ocean sciences, is holding court this month. She'll be speaking about the importance of symbiosis, a dependent relationship between two different organisms, for the recently discovered marine cyanobacterium, UCYN-A. Sounds a bit dense, but this little guy's ability to make nitrogen available to it's hosts makes it an important part of the marine environment. Dr. Muñoz-Marin will make sure the talk is easy to swallow. Call ahead to reserve a table and dress appropriately for a March evening.
The Crepe Place, 1134 Soquel Ave, Santa Cruz. 7:30pm. Free to attend, reservations are encouraged.
