Snapshot Day is an annual event where volunteers monitor the water quality of the watersheds that flow into the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Over 100 streams and rivers such as the San Lorenzo flow into the Monterey Bay, and they are being assessed for water quality on Snapshot Day to get a picture of the health of our beautiful sanctuary waters.
If you would like to volunteer to help with the water sampling, please plan on attending one of these trainings:
Monterey: Saturday, April 26, 2014, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
REI Store, General Stillwell Drive, Monterey
Santa Cruz: Sunday, April 27, 2014, 10 am-12 pm
Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor
Public Meeting Room, 365 Lake Avenue, Suite A
Keep in mind that the data you collect as a volunteer is used by resource agencies, local governments and community groups to improve the overall health of our local streams and rivers!
