We can't think of a single reason not to drink wine, sample gourmet food and chat up Mav'Riks at this Santa Cruz Warriors–hosted fundraiser for Santa Cruz City Schools. But in case you're playing hard to get, let's start with the wine. Nineteen Santa Cruz Mountains winegrowers — including Odonata, Roudon Smith, Alfaro and Burrell School — will be pouring their chards, pinots and cabernets all night.
More of a foodie? Twenty artisanal food purveyers — among them Santa Cruz City Schools alumni Adam Hoffman of Hoffman's Bistro & Patisseries and Michele Costa of the Back Nine Grille — will be serving up gourmet goodies, while a Kid Zone will keep the small fry occupied with a bounce house, basketball hoops and activities.
Guests will also be able to have their photo taken with the two — two! — 2015 League Championship trophies that this franchise scooped up, both the Golden State Warriors and our very own D-League Santa Cruz Warriors. Enter the raffle and you could win a jersey signed by Stephen Curry or Klay Thompson. And if you don't win, you still get to hang out with Mav'Riks, the teenage mutant ninja sea turtle and mascot par excellence. And it all benefits the 7,000-student Santa Cruz City Schools system.
