A Tunnel for Them, Trails for Us!

Date:

Wed, 04/27/2016 - 19:00

The Land Trust of Santa Cruz County is making a big-time impact on wildlife connectivity and recreation in the Santa Cruz Mountains. At tonight's open house in downtown Campbell you'll learn about how the Highway 17 wildlife underpass will help local mountain lions maintain genetic diversity across their range, and you'll get a peek at the spectacular summit-to-sea trail system for hikers, equestrians and mountain bikers taking shape in the San Vicente Redwoods. (Video below.)

Wildlife conservation professor Chris Wilmers will discuss mountain lion ecology and Land Trust Conservation Director Bryan Largay will give the audience the skinny on recreational trails done right in the 8,000-acre San Vicente Redwoods between Wilder Ranch and Big Basin.
