Valentines Day for P[lovers]: Walk and Cleanup

Date:

Mon, 02/15/2016 - 09:00

Snowy plovers are dainty, with their round bodies and small beaks, and they're native residents of Monterey's sand dunes. Unfortunately they're in trouble. Bonfires, parties and camping, along with the trash these events produce, disturb snowy plovers and threaten their entire population. Join Save Our Shores (SOS) for a beach clean-up after Valentines day. Bring your family and/or residual Valentine date to walk on the beach, enjoy the sun (that's the forecast!) and pick up trash.

Rain does not cancel. Don't forget layers or drinking water.

Meet up at Marina State Beach in the parking lot on 11 Reservation Road, Marina, CA 93933. 9am-2pm. Contact cleanup@saveourshores.org to RSVP. Contact Michael Pollacci, at michael@saveourshores.org for any questions. Free.
