Volunteer at Portola Redwoods and Castle Rock State Parks

Date:

Sat, 04/23/2016 - 16:45

Volunteers' eyes, ears and boots are needed as the watchful sentinels of Portola Redwoods and Castle Rock State Parks. These natural spaces are among the favorites of Central Coast hikers, rock climbers, backpackers and campers, but Park Staff can only do so much to make sure they are being enjoyed while still flourishing as protected areas for their other flora and fauna inhabitants. Join the Parks team, help the environment through education, maintain the trails and share your care with the community.

On April 23 and 30 and May 7 and 14, Park staff experts will offer training sessions to interested volunteers to guide them along trails, teach them about Park history and problems and how to assist Park visitors.

Call 831-291-8273 or e-mail rose.nelson@parks.ca.gov or volunteer@portolaandcastlerockfound.org to sign up for classes. For more information visit this page.
