Warriors at the Sanctuary Exploration Center

Date:

Thu, 03/21/2013 - 17:00

Basketball players in the submarine canyon? Only in Santa Cruz, and only at tonight's super-kid-friendly shindig.

Last year Santa Cruz welcomed two dazzling new attractions to town: the Sanctuary Exploration Center and the Santa Cruz Warriors. Both family-friendly, both wildly popular, they've enhanced our little berg. And now they're finally getting together. The National Marine Sanctuary Foundation is holding a final fundraiser for the Sanctuary Exploration Center's exhibits, which include a two-story replica of the Monterey Submarine Canyon, an intertidal touch pool and a multimedia theater.

Guests will be able to bid on fantastic seats for the Warriors' end-of-season game against the Bakersfield Jam, a 30-minute coaching session with a Warriors player (the team has the second-most wins in the league, thank you, so your granny shot is likely to improve after this) and a VIP package that includes courtside seats, the chance to meet a player, T-shirts and a meet-n-greet with the Warriors coach.

The fun happens Thursday, March 21, 5-7pm at the Sanctuary Exploration Center, 35 Pacific Ave, Santa Cruz. $25 (admits 1 adult and 1 child).

Tickets here.
