There’s no better way to unwind after a long week than to plop down next to some happy ducks at San Lorenzo Park and treat your ear buds to musical talent. Sponsored by New Music Works, the Coastal Watershed Council and Downtown Association, this event is a celebration our our San Lorenzo River and Composer Joh Cage’s 102nd birthday. This shin-dig will include Grammy-nominated William Winant Percussion Group, works by John Cage and Steve Reich, and the New Music Works Ensemble. Lunch provided by India Joze will silence your grumbling tummy. The fun continues after the concert—a musical procession will cross the San Lorenzo River Pedestrian Bridge to fill Abbott Square and the Pacific Garden Mall with music.
Duck Island at San Lorenzo Park. 12-1:30pm. Free. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on. Perfect spot for a picnic if you want to bring your own lunch.
