Eighteen months ago, after pushing the "reset" button on a water supply plan that included a desalination plant, the City of Santa Cruz appointed 14 people to a special water task force. The Water Supply Advisory Committee has been studying, analyzing and consulting with experts ever since to find a supply of water that will serve Santa Cruz through coming droughts and changes in climate. This fall the WSAC will present its findings to City Council—but tonight we, the people, get a sneak preview. This evening's Water Supply Showcase is a chance to see what the committee members are thinking about recommending, and to talk with those members.
