The drought may be leaving your gardens fruitless, but hopefully your brain still flowers with ideas on how to handle our perpetually dry sky. The city of Santa Cruz's Water Supply Advisory Committee (WASC) wants to hear from you about how to handle the drought. In July, the city put out a call for citizens' ideas on water supply issues. They were thrilled to receive over 80 submissions, and decided to reach out to even more people. To do so, the WASC is hosting a Strategies, Ideas, and Alternatives Convention where citizens can present their ideas. If you've been secretly stewing over an idea all summer, this convention is for you. Even if you haven't, though, you can still come out to the Convention and listen to others' suggestions for keeping our community's water supply sustainable and affordable.
