If carving out your love for mother ocean across sunrise-waves on ancient and innovative craft sounds like your kind of Saturday, take your coffee and ride down to Waddell for the Wild Coast Whomp.
Billed for bodysurfers and "alternative surf craft practitioners," the freesurf event is open to all. No need to bring anything other than your best vibrations and full-on Aloha Spirit as demo handplanes, cork boards, paipo, and "other wield surf mechanism" will be on hand. The only contest happening here is to see who can walk away from the morning with the biggest, saltiest smile.
