Wildflower Festival Day 1

Date:

Sat, 04/25/2015 - 11:00

Time to go see the wildflowers at Waddell Creek! Rancho del Oso Nature and History Center bursts into bloom this weekend for the annual Wildflower Festival, with more than 50 native flowers on display to help you identify the treasure trove outside the center's doors. Blooming in the park right now are shooting stars (pictured), trillium, buttercups and the invasive but cute (sorry, it's true) forget-me-nots. Plus gobs and gobs more. Day 1 of the naturalist-led wildflower walk will happen at 11am. Additionally, native plant specialist Scott Peden will lead a 4 mile hike to view a variety of wildflowers.

Rancho del Oso unit of Big Basin State Park, 17 miles north of Santa Cruz on Highway 1. Saturday and Sunday. 11am-4pm. Free.
