Who said a winter wonderland doesn't include new blooming flowers? Go on a hike with docent Scott Peden to see the flowers that have recently returned since the dry summer season. Peden will teach how to identify these winter plants, including mosses, lichens and chaparral plants. The walk is 4 miles; the 4-hour trip will include stops at several historical spots at Big Basin. Bring water and lunch. Meet at Park Headquarters.
Big Basin Redwoods State Park. 10am. Parking $10.
