So long, Snow Night; hello, Winterfest! The first multi-venue downtown Santa Cruz holiday extravaganza brings dance, music and even movies to venues throughout downtown Santa Cruz. Nutcracker dancers from Santa Cruz Ballet, Motion Pacific dancers, barbershop quartets, Rhan Wilson and friends and Michael Jackson tribute band Foreverland take the main stage at the newly reopened Vets Hall (indoors because of the rain). Down the street, the Del Mar is reportedly showing holiday favorites like claymation classics Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Santa Claus is Coming to Town. Currently scheduled to be screened outdoors, those films will, with any luck, make it inside. Look for marshmallow crafts at New Leaf and $1 hot cocoa at Chocolate.
