What would you like to see on the San Lorenzo River? Water taxis and bars, as on San Antonio's Riverwalk (pictured)? SUP and kayaking galore, as in Austin? Food trucks and crafts, like in Portland? How about Viking River Cruises, like on Downton Abbey? (Sorry. It's all we can think about lately.)
The point is, the San Lorenzo River is primed for something bigger, something better than its current existence as a place people avoid—we as a community just need to decide what that will be. The San Lorenzo River Alliance and the Coastal Watershed Council are jump-starting the process with three public forums where they'll gather input on what people want to see the river become. The first is tonight at MAH, the second is March 24 at Highlands Park in Ben Lomond and the third is May 12 at the Patagonia Outlet Store in Santa Cruz.
Come share your ideas for the river. Show the San Lorenzo some love.
Museum of Art and History, 705 Front St, Santa Cruz. 6:30-8:30pm. Free, but bring ideas.
