Date:

Sat, 09/14/2013 - 06:00

Epic bird watching on the water while a few whales throw in a free show, just a typical day on the Monterey Bay. You can find out more about the 2013 Monterey Bay Birding Festival here.

Hilltromper's Featured Events for Day Three:

7am-3:30pm - Shearwater Journeys Pelagic Trips.
Whales, dolphins, shearwaters, pigeon guillemots, Cassin’s and rhinoceros auklets, Sabine’s gull, arctic tern, perhaps a south polar skua or black–footed albatross... The possibilities approach infinity. Reserve your spot EARLY through Shearwater Journeys. Meet at Chris’ Fishing Shop, 48 Fisherman’s Wharf in Monterey. $154

7pm - Keynote Presentation: Sophie Webb on Seabirds and Marine Mammals of Eastern Tropical Pacific.
Sophie Webb spent four-months on a NOAA research cruise in the Eastern Tropical Pacific cataloguing seabirds that migrate to or from the California current. Come hear all about the health of our seabirds and, by extension, our ocean.
