The trail camps on the Skyline-to-the-Sea Trail and in Rancho del Oso, Portola Redwoods and Butano state parks open April 1—but the reservation line opens today. Make sure you get the weekend you want for your big hike this summer; some of these trail camps get booked months in advance.

Call 831.338.8861 Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm, for reservations and information. Backcountry trail camps are $15 per campsite per night, plus an $8 reservation fee. Additional vehicles left at park headquarters cost an extra $8-$10 per night.
