The California Native Plant Society heads up to Big Basin's Slippery Rock for a chance to scope out some rare wildflowers in a unique situation: growing in pockets of soil on a huge sandstone slope. Meet at Johnnie's in Boulder Creek to carpool up. Natural history guru Randall Morgan leads this field trip, which is free, although donations are respectfully encouraged. 10am-noon.
